Sustainability

At Bio-marine, we embrace sustainability as an opportunity, and our business strategy is aligned with global food sustainability efforts, such as the UN sustainability goals.

Sustainability for us means increasing the worlds access to healthy food from the ocean. We see amazing potential for much more sustainable food to come from the ocean to contribute towards meeting UN Sustainability Goal #2 – Zero Hunger: End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture.

It’s clear we need to face the challenges of climate change head on and sustaining the growth of food production will play a significant role in reducing global greenhouse gas emissions. In line with UN Sustainability Goal #13 – Climate action: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts, we believe more marine based alternative protein sources will contribute positively towards combating climate change.

We have faith in particular that marine based food consumption will contribute towards the reduction of global greenhouse gas emissions as we look to feed the world's growing population – better ensuring the security of our food supply – while at the same time improving the health of both people & pets in line with UN Sustainability Goal #3 – Good Health and Well-being: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.

This forms our guiding principles – which are centered around People, Pets and Planet. And in our view, this approach is a win-win-win for all!
